Parking

Parking at the University is limited, particularly since much of the parking around the stadium (E11, E12, E17) is being disrupted by construction the light rail system. Therefore, pre-paid parking permits will be required for the Ceremony and for all School, College and Departmental graduation events occurring within normal parking hours. Students should order parking permits through the Commencement registration/order form, May 3 - May 23.

  • All Permits cost $14.00 and will be available on a first-come, first served basis through the registration/order form.
  • In order to fairly distribute parking spaces, each student will be limited to a reasonable number of parking permits for the particular event he/she is attending.
  • Students attending any event (Commencement or School/College events) on June 12th will need to select the parking lot in which they wish to park. Note: E11 and E12 lots are mostly unavailable due to construction. Shuttle buses run from the N lots and from the Portage Bay Garage. A few lots in E12 will be available for disability parking only. For a map of lot locations see the Commencement Day Parking Map.
  • Once purchased no refunds will be available for parking permits.
  • Permits will be picked up at the HUB on the pick up day the student selects on the web form.
  • Students may pick up additional permits (if available) when they pick up their order.

Disability Parking and Drop Off Locations

On Commencement Day (June 12), disability parking will be located in the Triangle Parking Garage, E12, and in front of the Tubby Graves Building (see Commencement Day Parking Map). Students may obtain special disability parking permits for those lots via the Registration Order/form. Students are encouraged to determine their guests' needs before purchasing.

For information on disability parking for a School/College or departmental event, see below.

A special drop off area has been arranged in front of the Graves Building for guests with disabilities or mobility limitations. The Graves Building is just north of the stadium and can only be accessed via the northbound lanes of Montlake Blvd. There is no parking in this area so drivers will need to proceed to the parking area noted on their permit. Golf carts, with drivers, will be available to transport guests from the drop off area to Husky Stadium. Immediately following the ceremony, the drop off area will be inaccessible for approximately 30 - 45 minutes while the traffic clears. After this period pick up will resume again.

School, College, or Departmental Event Parking

  • Each permit purchased (see "Parking" above) will be valid for the date of your event and will be valid in any parking lot on campus. Guests should stop at the gatehouses for directions to available parking lots nearest your event.
    • Exception: Parking permits on Commencement Day (June 12) are for specific lots. If your School, College, or Departmental event occurs on Commencement Day, you may want to purchase a parking permit for the lot nearest your event location.
  • Special disability parking permits for lots near the stadium are issued for Commencement Day (June 12) only. To obtain disability parking for School, College, and Departmental events that occur on other days,or take place at other locations around campus:
    • Purchase a regular parking permit for the day of your School, College, or Departmental event.
    • Tell your disabled guests to stop at the gatehouse when they enter the campus and ask the staff to direct them to the appropriate disability parking nearest your event.
