Its easy to participate in Commencement. Just follow these steps.
1. Make sure you are eligible
Bachelor Candidates: Students who earned a degree in Summer 2009, Autumn 2009, or Winter 2010, or have applied to graduate with a departmental advisor for Spring 2010 or Summer 2010 are eligible.
Master's, Doctoral or Professional Candidates: Graduates who earned their degrees in Summer 2009, Autumn 2009, or Winter 2010, or candidates who have a reasonable expectation of graduating in Spring 2010 or Summer 2010 are eligible to participate.
Names Listed in Program: The Commencement program lists the names of graduates from Summer 2009 through Spring 2010. Important Note: Spring 2010 candidates must have either their Application to Graduate (Bachelors), Master'es Degree Request or Doctoral request submitted and received by the appropriate office by the April 16th deadline in order to have their names listed. The names of Summer 2010 graduates will be listed in the following year's programs. If you do not wish to have your name listed in the program you must contact the Office of the Registrar (206-543-5378).
2. Order graduation announcements, class rings, diploma frames. Purchase T-shirts.
To order announcements and diploma frames visit our Announcements and Diploma Frames pages - or come to our Grad Fairs in the HUB lobby (March 11th and April 8th). The Class T-shirts and Four Columns T-shirts (see photos at right) will be available for purchase soon.
3. Prepare to register
Determine the number of guest tickets and parking permits you will need. All reasonable requests will be honored but we ask that you confirm the attendance of your guests before ordering the tickets. Special seating sections for guests in wheelchairs or those who have difficulty walking, as well disability parking permits, are available. See the Tickets page for more information.)
4. Register and order (cap and gown, tickets, parking, etc) online
Return to this website, May 3 - May 23. The link to the registration/order form is in the upper right corner of the Home page. Parking permits are required if you need to park a vehicle on campus during normal parking hours for either Commencement at Husky Stadium or any of the School, College, or Departmental graduation celebrations.
5. Pick up your order
June 2nd - June 5th at the HUB from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. The online registration/order form allows you to choose your pick-up date.
6. Come to Husky Stadium, June 12th, at 12:00 p.m., and celebrate with family and friends!
The instructions you receive when you pick up your order will tell you where to line up at the stadium.

Honor Cords
Special honor cords are awarded to undergraduate students who have earned baccalaureate honors (Cum laude, Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude), College Honors, or Departmental Honors. Click on the links above for an explanation of these honors. Those eligible may purchase the cords for $10.00 on the web registration/order form. If you qualify for College or Departmental Honors, be sure you or your advisor submits your Departmental Honors Invitation to the Honors Program (MGH 211 or Box 352800) by April 16, 2010.
T-shirts
Class T-shirts and Four Columns T-shirts are ready and will soon be available for purchase online or at our March 11th and April 8th Grad Fairs at the HUB.

Diplomas

Diplomas are mailed by the Office of the Registrar to the address selected by the student on MYUW. This will occur approximately 3 to 4 months after the date of graduation..
